The price of an ounce of gold is $ 1200 and has fluctuated in the $ 700-1800 range during the last 5 years. Mark Dice tried to sell a coin weighing an ounce in the video below.
The video only shows people rejecting the offer; how many accepted the offer to buy it for $ 25 and walked to the coin shop across the street and sold it for $ 1500? I suppose not too many, otherwise Mark Dice would’ve quickly lost a small fortune.
Is there anything else the average person is ignorant of other than the value of gold? What about basic science questions? Did dinosaurs other than birds ever live together with humans or is The Flintstones merely a fictional cartoon? According to a poll commissioned by the National Center for Science Education, 40% of adults believe dinosaurs lived at the same time as people. In reality, according to Wikipedia, most scientists believe dinosaurs disappeared 66 million years ago when an asteroid 6 miles in diameter collided with the earth near the Yucatan Peninsula, and “homo sapiens originated in Africa, where it reached anatomical modernity about 200,000 years ago and began to exhibit full behavioral modernity around 50,000 years ago.”
Not only did dinosaurs disappear before humans emerged but also long before any great apes, including gorillas, orangutans, bonobos, and chimpanzees, whose common ancestor lived roughly 14 million years ago.
The same poll found that 64% agree, “all living things exhibit evidence of having been purposefully designed, which means there must be an Intelligent Force or a God.” I suppose none of these people have ever had a lower back ache, or don’t consider it a handicap in an animal that stands upright. And, they can’t perceive a blind spot in the visual field of humans and other invertebrates as a disadvantage. Maybe they don’t know humans have a blind spot.
